Soy Wax Candle Forum - Online resource for soy candle makers

Will and others, I was looking for a little info on the importance of wicks in candlemaking - I'm a beginner and they are the only element of the candle I hadn't really experimented with yet. I found this link from the National Candle Association:

And thought it sounded authoritative, given that this is a national association that has set safety and quality standards for candles. I'm curious now if those of you who are experienced chandlers find this information to be accurate and, if you have any additional advice or tips for selecting the right wick for proper burn and scent throw.
