First, I'd like to say YIIIPPEEEEEEEE!! that the forum is up and running! This is GREAT!
Now, my question.
If I use wick that hasn't been pre-treated with wax, do I need to do that before using it in my candles?
I was in a crunch today needing smaller wicks, so I picked up some coreless wicking at Michael's craft store. I used it as is.. but my mom said she thinks I was suppose to pre-soak it in the wax first....
Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for your visit and your post here! Most of your wicks that are not pretreated will bo ok. When your wax is poured the wick will soak it up as well as during the burn process.
None of the wicking for pillar candles is pretreated (that I have found).
As far as I know, the only reason for pre-dipped candle wicks is to stiffen them up for easier wicking in smaller candles like votives and containers.
Thanks again for your post!!
