Why not buy everything from one company?

I'm new to candle making as well but the more I read on trial & error I wonder if ordering from one supplier (wax, wicks, color & scent) would help with a lot of that. I would assume if a supplier is selling those items they already know all those items work best with one another?! I would rather go with one supplier then have to waste a lot of time ordering each item seperately from vendors and then finding out I have to reorder whatever item doesn't work with that wax or whatnot. What do some of you pro's feel about that? Leave the bigger trial and errors to the vendor.

I'm also new to candlemaking, but I will try to answer your question. I guess the obvious reason (to me, at least) would be scent preference. One company's Vanilla will probably smell different from another company's. You may like some FOs from Company A, but not from Company B. Then, someone tells you about a "MUST HAVE" scent from Company C. So you try that one.

Then there's the suppliers that do not test every Fragrance Oil in every type of wax. If a supplier mainly sells Petroleum wax, and just began selling Soy wax, all of that supplier's FOs may not have been tested in soy, so may not work. Hope this Helps.

I really wish I could get everything from one supplier, because then I could save on shipping costs......
