Hello to all. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for having such great knowledge in candlemaking. This site is a blessing. I recently started making soy candles and most of my candles have turned out ok , i"m still testing a lot. With the help of this site I did find the right wick for my container jars. Thank you!!!!! My qouestion is, can anybody educate my on why my candle has a little white on the sides after it has cooled? What temp do I add f/o and dye and then what is a good temp to pour?

I'm having the same frost problems. I'll try and cool it slower. I use the dye blocks from NuScent. Don't know if it's that or not. I'm very glad to hear that it does not affect the outcome (smell and burn rate).
Thank you,
LuvBug

the white on the sides is probably frost. It happens with soy, there's not much you can do about it, try cooling slower, under a box perhaps.
Also, it could be the dye you are using... it's one of those things that just happens with soy. It won't effect how your candle burns or smells.

I am no expert but we normaly melt to 175 add sent at around 150 and stir until it is slushy and then pour. We haave very nice tops and not many wet spots, and no frosting. This works for us. Hope this helps.
