Hi, Does anyone have a recipe for those soy-candle lotions? (Soy and butters, etc) I bought several at a craft fair and have loved them. I don't light mine, but set them on a small candle warmer for a few minutes. All my co-workers love and want one. Thanks.

Soy/Lotion Candles
Hi,
I made up a batch of these candles and I think they turned out pretty good! I couldn't find a recipe or help anywhere...crazy. I ran across lots of posts about them being dangerous, etc. But, I made several batches and have given to friends and family, and they all want more for their friends and family!
I made them with soy, shea and mango butter and hazelnut or almond oil, FO and a touch of color.
On them being dangerous,... I think that basically, people are pretty smart! You can cut yourself opening a dang can of soup, if you don't use common sense, which most people do.....I think people are smart enough to know that they will get burned if they "dip" into the candle/lotion if it's still burning! If not, then I guess it's the "once burned, twice shy" kind of thing!! (I include a small description on how to use.) I've blown the candle out and dipped into it right away and even then, didn't think it was too hot. These candles are showing up all over in different specialty stores! The warmth feels lovely, and the natural butter/oil combo "sinks" right into the skin in a very short time, leaving it beautifully soft. Thanks, Teri
Soy/Lotion Candles
I have read soy lotion candles contain about 15% shea butter. It is also best to make them without dyes. Use cosmetic grade soy wax. Let us know how they turn out! redmaple :) www.tootsiescandles.com
