I use to use the 444 also, I got the same problem, the white film thats around or in the jar, Pour at a higher temp such as 135 and see how it works then, but I had to switch to the 464 because it doesn't have the film and it works better, I do know a lady that uses both the 444 and 464, the only different is weather conditions, but she gets success each time because she have been making them for a while now.
