leveling pillar candle

Am I the only one that can not level a pillar? It seems the more I try, the more it wobbles. :( I place a cookie sheet over a pan of hot water, turn, turn, turn but the wick causes a bump on the bottom. I loose so much of the candle, I just give up. Is it easier to insert a wick pin before pouring and add wick after it is leveled? They are so pretty, I hate to stop making them, please I need suggestions!!!!!!!

I usually fill the molds to the top, wait for the wax to cool, top off any shrinkage or sink holes, then I take a steel ruler and drag it over the top edge (bottom of the candle) until all of the wax is even with the mold. Are you using this type of mold? http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candlemolds_seamless-alumin...

Good luck.
