Hello all,
I just joined in search of an answer to my question. I am pretty new to candle making, so I am in need of a little assistance. Everything in the process goes fine, then after it is done cooling they collapse a little in the middle. What can I do to prevent this? I don't even know what causes it to begin with .. Any help?
collapsing middles
what wax are you using? you may need to adjust your pour temp depending on the wax you are using (pouring too cool can cause this). I have also found that while the candles are setting up (cooling) if there is any movement around the area you have them that can cause you to get holes in the middle. Example you have your candles on a table and the table is bumped or if you have kids around running, jumping, etc. can cause movement in the uncooled wax which always makes those holes in the middle (looks kinda like they collapsed). I have mine set up in a seperate room where there is no one but me in and out of and try to make them when the kids are in school. You can take a heat gun or hair dryer to fix the problem candles you already have. HTH.
