First Timer....need help with tarts

Before jumping in feet first into a pile of wicks, I thought I'd try my hand at making tarts first. :D

My order arrived today and I can't wait to get started, but I want to try a small batch first. I ordered a 5lb bag of the para-soy wax and the other necessary goodies. I want to use the least amount of wax possible on my first try.

I have looked everywhere I know for a simple recipe on making tarts, but anytime I do a search, it only brings up people selling the tarts they've made....not helpful. The other websites I found focus on every type of candle making, except tarts.....again, not helpful.

Can someone please direct me to a website or link that focuses on making tarts? I received no directions with my order, only the proper melting temperature.

Or, if you feel inclined to give me your own methods, that would be great as well.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks for all your help! I made my first batch and they turned out really well. :) I don't think my fragrance is throwing so well, but I'll keep trying.

In the standard tart molds I use 20 grams of wax per tart. As far as scent goes I use .25 of an ounce per 12 Tarts. I melt the wax to about 175 degrees and had my color and then my scent. I then stir and pour in the molds to cool.

Hello Number 2,

I am pretty new to this myself and have just been following the regular advice of 1-1.5 ounces of fragrance to one pound of wax and have been really pleased with the results. I just love making tarts and can't get enough of them.
