cotton wick vs. zinc wick??

Hello all!

I am new to the candle making arena and am excited on getting started on making my first soy candles. The problem I'm having is that I've noticed that both cotton and zinc wicks are available and frankly, I don't know what to buy. Is there a major difference between the two or is it just personal preference? Any help and info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

cotton wick vs. zinc wick??

sc29...Zinc wicks burn hotter than cotton. They have approx.
.002 % of lead in them...which is approved by the EPA as safe.
Many chandlers use them. Many chandlers don't. Just a
choice to make.

I used HTP's and Eco wicks. I use the HTP 104, 105, and 1212
and Eco 6 through 14 mainly, depending on the fragrance I use.

Do a google search and research and read eveything you can
on the wicks. It helps before buying. Some of the suppliers will
allow you to purchase smaller sample quanities to save money.
