I have a questions about contain soy candles. I have been making these candles for several months now and have noticed that sometimes the end result in the jar is not real pretty. It is hard to explain what is looks like. Most candles look real "smooth" and even. Some of mine are just plain ugly. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?

Can you give me a little more info or send a picture? Just wondering if the top of your soy candle is mottled or is the wax pulling away from the jar? Thanks!

The top of my candles look fine. It looks as though the sides of the candles that meet up the the jar are sometimes looks like a white film in spots. Hope that helps. I f not I will try to get a picture to you.

Will,
I am also putting more fragrance than the 1ounce to 1 pound ration. Will this affect the outcome?

Hi,
It could have an effect on your candles, but I would doubt it. You may try just using wax only without fragrance, color, or other additives. If you have the same results, more than likely, it is related to the candle wax you are using. Try pouring at different temperatures (hot vs. slushy), or experiment with some different waxes. Most mfgs are willing to send you a pound to try fairly cheap if not free.
Thanks,
