coffee beans in soy container candles

Howdy! Just joined the forum about 2 AM after reading lots of useful content from you all! Good stuff!

I make soap, bath salts, potpourri, floral arrangements, etc,. and just added soy candles a month ago. I had never made soy candles before and started out with 100%soy. Of course, I've run into just about every problem that's been discussed on this website!

Here's what I'm curious about: I make a wonderful coffee candle and I had tried to find info on the internet about adding coffee beans to them, but there was almost NOTHING. That made me wonder if it's been tried and it's a bad idea.

My first candles only had a thin layer on top (they float) and they burned well. Then, I thought," more is better" and added more only to have terrible burning.

Some of the bean can act as wicks themselves if they're next to the wick and catch fire.

I didn't have this problem with my first candles, but wonder if anyone else has tried coffee beans and had success or problems.
