We poured our first soy candle last night with 1 oz of fragrance per pound, 3 drops of color, 26 oz total. Woke this mourning to find the dreaded sink holes. Any ideas. :?

I agree it does do much better to keep stirring it until it is time
to pour. It makes all the difference in the overall process.
I use Ky pure soy for containers. I melt and heat it to 175 degrees,
add the additives (I just use fragrance) then stir it until it is between
98 to 100 degrees, then pour it very slowly into the container (I make
sure my container is at room temperature...room temperature
being 70 degrees).
I am new to soy candle making and am in no way an expert. but if you keep stiring your wax until it is starting to get cloudy and show a little grain kind of like cream of wheat that has been for me a good time to pour the wax. I have had good luck using this as a guide for a smooth appearance on the top. :) Hope this helps!
Thanks for your post here. Can you tell me what temperature you poured your candle at? Sometimes a cooler pour will take care of this problem. At times I will take a heat gun to the top of the candle to smooth it out.

Sink holes
Hi!
Thanks for your post here. Can you tell me what temperature you poured your candle at? Sometimes a cooler pour will take care of this problem. At times I will take a heat gun to the top of the candle to smooth it out.
Thanks!
