awful smoke & smell

I am new to soy candle making......everything has basically been going great....except for one thing!
I have noticed that when I blow out my candles, there is an awful smell & alot of smoke.
I have been using the C-3 soy wax & the 60-44-18c wicks for a container about 3.5 inchec in diameter. I thought the wic was a lead free, safe wic....sure doesn't smell nice.
The sent throw is great while burning. No soot/smoke while burning.....just awful smoke & smell when put out!
Please help!
Thanks,
MIMI

What works best for soy candles is not to blow out the flame or snuff it but to dip it. You can use anything, my husband is a welder and made me a cute one at work but you can use anything from a toothpick to an old pair of tweezers. you simply dip the wick into the melted wax, which will exterminate it then stand the wick back up. It keeps the wick coated in wax so that the next time you light your candle you are burning wax around the wick and not just cotton wick!! Hope this helps, works for me!!

wicks

First, that is the wrong size wick for your jar. That wick is for a 2 1/2 -3" jar. second that part number can be a zinc core or cotton core. The zinc core may smoke a little but what I think your problem is is that your wick is too long. Try trimming your wick to approx. 1/4 in before you light it. From experience, I would suggest you use HTP1212 wicks. I think you will have better results. I have more tips and troubleshooting on my website. www.lynnscountrycandles.com
I hope this helps.
